fun on farm
Spend time with us on the farm this summer.  We have 10 one week sessions – and lots to do, see and experience.

Hike the trail.  Learn about soil – get a little muddy.  Help plant and harvest your own veggies.  It’s a honey of a good time when we learn about bees and the beehive. Explore the woods and the river.  Come check out the beaver dam and the swans on the brook. We’ll play games, do arts and crafts and so much more.

We’ve got lots in store – so come on down to the farm.

* NEW THIS YEAR* Monday-Thursday  - 9-3.  We are offering 8:30 early drop off for an additional $25 per session.

This year will feature 2 groups each session:  first farmers – ages 6-8 and pioneering planters age 9-11.
Please contact the farm if you have a child you’d like to include that falls outside these age groups.

*ALSO NEW* we are accepting applications for Counselors In Training  - 2 each week – must be ages 12-14.  Interested please send an email to the farm with a brief summary of why you want to be a counselor.  You must commit to the full week.  This is an unpaid position. Please email Tina Wright for more information. tina.wright@medwaycommunityfarm.org

What to bring:  waters, snack lunch. And don’t forget the Sunscreen!

The Medway Community Farm is located at 50 Winthrop Street.

Bugs, Birds, and Beavers – Life on the Farm
Come explore the animal life on the farm!
We will check out the insects in the fields and forest.  We might  even make a bug farm.  We’ll learn about the birds that live on the farm and look for their nests and maybe even find some eggs from new bird babies.  We can make our own bird nests and more. Explore the beaver dam and learn about the beaver lodge.   There’s a lot of nature on the farm. Come experience it and learn.

Water, Sun, and Soil –  Summer is Joyful
Sunshine and fun crafts fill the summer days.   We will explore the elements that allow the farm vegetables to grow.  Water  - discover the stream area, maybe play with some water balloons, and hang with the sprinkler – getting watered like the plants!

Greens, Grasses, and Growing
Summer is the prime growing season.
Each week we will work in the Camp Vegetable Beds.  We’ll plant, weed, water and harvest our own veggies.  All campers will get the chance to bring home some fresh, organic vegetables planted by the Fun on the Farm campers.

About Medway Community Farm:
Medway Community Farm is a registered 501(c)3 charity located in Medway, Massachusetts.

Our mission is to maintain a place that enhances Medway’s rural character, fosters community spirit and encourages “learning from the land” by providing and increasing access to locally grown food, volunteer experiences, educational programming, and public events.

Our Story
Medway Community Farm (MCF) was founded through grassroots efforts in 2009 with the goal of stewarding land for agricultural and educational purposes. With the support of our community, volunteers, board, and staff, the Farm now occupies 18 acres of growing fields, conservation land, walking trails, and wooded areas.

Through sustainable and organic growing practices, our fields yield fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers that we provide to Members through a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model as well as to retail customers online, in the Farm Store, and at local Farmers Markets. We are committed to building food access in our area by participating in SNAP & HIP programs, and by donating a portion of the produce we grow to the food pantries at Medway Village Church and Mahan Circle, as well as Medway House Family Shelter.

MCF strives to create a gathering place dedicated to a shared passion for nature, land stewardship, and organic farming by offering meaningful hands-on educational programs and on-farm community events that cater to all ages. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and walk the property using farm roads and walking trails. We also welcome you to reach out and schedule a visit with us.
