Hands-on Robotics with Micro:bit (Block Coding) Level 1 Grades 4-6
This engaging program introduces students to the exciting world of robotics and coding using Micro:bit, a pocket-sized programmable computer. Through hands-on experiments and block coding, students will explore the Micro:bit's built-in sensors, including an accelerometer, light sensor, and motion detector, to create fun and practical projects. Project includes: Building a step counter, designing a dice roller for board games, creating an animal tracker and many more exciting real-world experiments. *This class requires purchase of a physical Micro:bit device (appr. $35), which can be used for future Micro:bit series classes.
Elementary Game Design & AI 101 (Grades 5-6)
Designed for upper elementary students, this exciting course combines creativity, problem-solving, and technology through two engaging modules. Students will create their own video games while exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses data to make decisions in the world around us.
Game Design Module
- Create interactive games with animated characters
- Build scoring systems, challenges, and game rule
- Design and share games during a collaborative Game Ja
- Improve projects using testing and feedback
AI 101 Module
- Explore how AI works behind the scenes
- Learn how AI analyzes data and makes decisions
- Discover AI applications used in everyday life
- Discuss important topics such as data, fairness, and bias
AI Discoveries (Grades 6-8)
AI Discoveries is an engaging middle school course that puts AI literacy at the center, helping students learn not only how to use AI tools, but also how to think critically about them. Through hands-on projects, students will create apps, games, and AI-powered experiences while exploring how artificial intelligence is shaping our everyday lives. Along the way, they will develop creativity, problem-solving, digital literacy, and responsible technology skills. No prior coding experience is required.
